Last week, I aired my grievances surrounding Geno Atkins’ Pro Bowl selection. This week, I’m not even gonna spend a lot of time getting into this. I’m not gonna go into the playoff losses or the prime time struggles. I’m not gonna get into the 17 interceptions or the countless passes thrown over the heads of receivers who stand 6’4 and 6’6, respectively. I get it, you get it, we all get it. Andy Dalton isn’t a Pro Bowl caliber quarterback and that’s just a fact of life. What gets me though is how can the league higher-ups be OK with Dalton going to the Pro Bowl? Is Goodell just fucking with our heads? Did the league fire out a press release just to watch the public firestorm only to come back a few days later and be all like, “nah man, we were just kidding, we got you guys good! Who says this is the No Fun League?” Goodell must be trolling on All-Madden right now. For the life of me, I just can’t see a single scenario where anyone in the league office legitimately thinks Andy Dalton representing in the league’s all star game is good thing. Oh well, I guess as long as people are whining about Pro Bowl selections instead of domestic abuse and player violence, it’s all good in the hood, right Rodge?
This is what a pro bowl QB looks like, in case you were wondering
Take ’em to school, Andy.
PS- If this really is some sort of reverse trolling scheme where the NFL is purposely putting shitty players in the lineup just to get people talking and drive up ratings, then they’ve done a masterful job. Before the Dalton selection, I was probably gonna get caught up on season 3 of “The Americans” or something, but now I’m tuned in. God damnit NFL, you win again.
