You know at the end of spring when it’s still a little chilly out and it’s not quite shorts and t-shirt weather yet but you reeeaaallllyyy want it to be summertime? You’re probably just like, “fuck it, I’m gonna go ahead and force summer. I’ve been wearing sweatpants and hoodies for too damn long! I don’t care if it’s 35 degrees out tomorrow, I’m stepping out of the house in a fresh T and new pair of khaki shorts and there isn’t a damn thing that can stop me.” Well, I’m gonna go ahead and force football season. It’s not that far of a stretch either. The Reds are dead and buried, rookies reported to camp today, and practices start on Friday, so as far as I’m concerned, WE’RE BACK, BABY! And what better way to get jazzed up for some pigskin than to watch Vontaze Burfict do some hard cuts and 40″ box jumps? I’ve never had a knee injury in my life, but I bet if tried to do some box jumps like that right here and now, there’s about a 50/50 chance I come out unscathed. That’s exactly what you want to see out of a guy who’s fresh off microfracture surgery. I know we’re a long way off from any real actual football, but from where I’m sitting, that looks like a healthy outside linebacker to me. There’s still some speculation as to whether or not King Tez is going to be back on the field this season, but keep in mind Jadeveon Clowney had the same exact surgery a month earlier and reports out of Houston say he looks as good as he ever has right now so it’s not a stretch to think that the best linebacker in football could be back on the field sooner rather than later.
Also does this look like a guy that’s getting ready to rush for a million yards this season?
