Oh, that’s just Zack Cozart, remember him? Well he’s back with his Carson Palmer knee brace, swinging the lumber and ready to steal your girl’s heart with a little Marvin Gaye playing in the background. In an upcoming season that probably won’t feature a whole lotta bright spots, Zack Cozart’s development, or re-development rather, will be something to get excited about. Before he shredded his knee last June, Zack looked for all the world that he had finally turned a corner offensively. Everyone knows he’s Slick Rick with the leather, but Zack’s biggest problem was at the plate. If Cozart can come back healthy and even get close to his .258/9/28 totals through the first couple months of last year coupled with Eugenio Suarez’s continued production at third, the Reds could be looking at a pretty productive left side of the infield for years to come as long as both guys continue to develop like they have offensively.
Also Zack Cozart just proves everything we’ve ever thought about professional athletes. We’re less than 8 months removed from Zack’s horrific knee injury that tore up multiple ligaments and here he is strolling into Goodyear claiming he’s A-OK
If that were you or I, we might not ever be able to run normally again the rest of our lives, yet Zack is out here ripping liners back up the middle and looking to play 150 games again this season less than a year removed knee surgery. These pro athletes just aren’t regular human beings.
